'06 Chevrolet Impala

A comfortable car that is easy to drive, the 2006 Chevrolet Impala features three engine options and is available in four variants. The LS and the LT are available with a V-6 3.5 liter 211 hp engine and a four-speed automatic transmission.

The LT can also be purchased with 17” alloy wheels and a 3.9 liter V-6 engine, which are standard with the high-end LTZ version of the 22006 Chevrolet Impala.

The premium SS model, however, also features a much more powerful V-8 5.3 liter DOD engine that produces a huge 303 horsepower that comes with a four-speed auto transmission.

Side-curtain airbags, front smart airbags, ABS and traction control are some of the safety features offered in the 2006 Impala in all but the LS variant. This year also sees the Impala getting a major restyling and completely redesigned interiors along with sportier exterior styling along with three different engine options.

'07 Chevrolet Impala

With a major focus on getting better fuel economy from this series, the 2007 Chevrolet Impala sees major engine tweaks that allow for better fuel efficiency.

The V-6 3.5 liter 211 horsepower engine now runs E85 fuel, and the larger V-6 3.9 liter 233 horsepower engine has been given a cylinder shut off system that helps improve fuel efficiency noticeably.

The 5.3 liter V-8 303 horsepower engine variant has an Active Fuel Management System, and is available only in the top-end SS model with 18” alloy wheels and a performance system.

The car features big front headlights, sleek narrow rear lights, and new side trims. The interiors feature comfortable seating with metallic or wooden trim panels, and an optional dual climate control system.

The 2007 Chevrolet Impala comes fitted with a CD-MP3 audio system that is compatible with OnStar Gen 7.0, and there is a storage compartment in the rear seat for small items.

2007 Chevrolet Impala

The 2007 Chevrolet Impala offers an SS performance-based version providing amazing power, style and fuel economy.

Featuring:

  • 303HP on a 5.3L V-8 Engine

  • Aluminum block core

  • Displacement on Demand

Displacement-on-Demand, aka Active Fuel Management, allows the driver to switch off half of the cylinders in the engine to run with a more fuel-friendly engine for light-load situations such as highway travelling. The EPA has estimated an increase of up to 8% in fuel gas mileage can be had by having such a feature implemented.

The performance tuned 2007 Chevrolet Impala is capable of incredible speed times:

  • 0-60MPH in 5.6 seconds

  • 14.2 seconds quarter-mile at 101mph

2006 Chevrolet Impala


The new GM W-Platform makes its debut for the first time on an Impala with the 2006 Chevrolet Impala.

Four Trims with multiple engine options are offered:

  • LS Sedan: 3.5L V-6 producing 211HP

  • LT Sedan: Option 3.9L V-6 with 242HP

  • LTZ Sedan: 3.9L V-6 putting out 242HP

  • SS Sedan: 5.3L V-8 with 303HP

The 2006 Chevrolet Impala comes only with a 4-speed automatic putting power to the 110” wheel-base front-wheels. The LS Sedan and lower-end LT is capable of over 30MPG on the highway, while the higher-end LT and LTZ with the 242 3.9L V-6 achieve 27MPG on the highway.

The performance-tuned SS Sedan manages to attain a 28MPG highway estimate with its 5.3L 303HP V-8 engine. A Police Package featuring updated cooling systems and the 3.9L V-6 was updated.
